Photography Show

FREE Photography Demonstration with Gigi Crouse

Saturday, September 17, 2022 - 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Inside the Home Arts Building (Building 1)

Born and raised in the Philippines, studio photographer Gigi moved to Visalia 13 years ago and started a photography business in 2016. After completing two semesters of online photography classes from Santa Barbara Community College, she decided to put her focus on business and marketing. While Gigi loves taking pictures of practically anything, her real fascination is taking photographs of people and pets.

Specializing in modern magazine-style photo shoots with a timeless and classic approach, she loves capturing the beauty of everyday men and women in photographs. Gigi isn’t just a photographer and she captures more than photographs. Celebrating curves, age, and even scars, Gigi invites clients to join her in a life-changing journey of self-discovery: You are more beautiful than you realize! Clients have described their experiences with Gigi: “She captures the soul of her clients—the inner beauty that even they may not know that they have.” “The special place she creates for her clients to make them feel like the most important person in the world is the highlight of the experience.”

Gigi creates experiences where men & women feel beautiful and valued. She makes sure to get to know her clients on a deeper level so that she can bring out their personality in photographs. Gigi makes it her mission to invite men and women—no matter what shape, size, race or age—to exist in portraits and to see their own unique beauty through the legacy of portraits."

Darren Cotta

From the tiny town of Tipton California, I am Darren Cotta. Being from such a small town in the Central Valley and having very few neighbors, the remote area provided a canvas for the growth of a very vivid imagination and the drive to create art. I spent a lot of time watching Turner Classic Movies and became an armchair film critic who fell in love with the cinematography styles of movie directors such as John Ford and Stanley Kubrick.

I started photography back in 2008 by coming home to an older 35mm film camera that was purchased for me from a local estate sale. From there, I purchased film sporadically and took pictures whenever the spark of creativity struck. A very brief duration of a C.O.S. photography course, set me on the right track to bettering my skill set. Shortly after posting my pictures online using the outdated form of “scanning photos”, my art took notice on social media.

Following this passion, I found myself photographing weddings, portraits and even high fashion photography. I have worked with notable brands such as FarmersOnly, Marc Jacobs Beauty and KVD Beauty. I volunteer my photography services to Tulare Animal Services and Friends Of Tulare Animal Services as a way to give back to the community that has provided much to my successes in photography.

Ron Holman

Photography began for Ron Holman around the age of 10 when his father purchased darkroom equipment as a hobby. About seven years would pass before he acquired his own 35mm camera, a Minolta XD-11. High school friends invited him to join the yearbook staff for his senior year. Jostens selected the resulting yearbook to represent them in a national contest. The book only placed second but a seed was planted. After an initial interest in engineering, Ron sampled college courses in other areas before landing in Journalism at CSU Fresno. He has been a photojournalist since 1986, working at the Visalia Times-Delta since 1989 and now the Chief Photographer. His varied work includes features, sports, portraits, the occasional stupid human event (A.K.A. breaking news) and personal or commissioned projects as time permits. Over the years his work has been published worldwide in dozens of publications via The Associated Press, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, and even The National Enquirer. Ron has been a member of the National Press Photographers Association since 1986 and a senior member of SportShooter.com since 2002 and is currently leading Valley Photography Group in Visalia. He lives in Visalia with his wife Carol, they have two sons.

Ron Ludekens Photography – The Creators Palette

God created a marvelous world full of wonderful sights and people. He is the Creator and it is His Palette of beauty that I try to capture as photographic images. Images of nature or images of people and their lives – both reflect the handiwork of the Creator.

My family and I live in the wonderful city of Visalia, California – part of the great Central Valley. We are immediately surrounded by agriculture and all the hard working people that feed our world. A short distance away are the grand Sierra Nevada mountains, impressive National Parks and, wider still, the vast diversity that California has to offer.

I am part of the family that owns the L.E. Cooke Co Wholesale Nursery – a leader in the horticulture industry of North America. Even on the job, my camera is always nearby. My photos for the nursery trade have been published in books, magazines, newsprint and used on the websites of nurseries across America and around the world.

Since Christ captured my heart in 1970, I have been active as a member and leader in His church and its missions. Since I take a lot of photos wherever I am, you will find references in my blog and photo galleries to the life and work of Christ followers locally and around the world. It is rewarding to see my photography used as a resource that the church uses in its communications and message. Plus photos of all the fun and worthwhile things we do are shared among members and friends.

Over the years I have done a wide range of photography from weddings, portraiture and events to wildlife and landscapes. In recent years, I am finding a real joy in traveling God’s marvelous creation, enjoying its beauty and creating Art Prints for hanging on office and home walls. So, if you are looking for photographic art to decorate, please browse www.CreatorsPalette.com (“Favorites” tab is a good place to start).
